The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house using a combined gross house income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined house cash flow isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are studying or plan to research at a general my nsfas public university or TVET college in South Africa.
